A new year, new opportunities, new designs and most importantly, new trends. While many of you may be trying to stick to your New Year’s resolutions, the design world is swiftly moving forward, creating new trends for 2018. As a keen enthusiast in design, I find new design trends to be very exciting…well, some of them…
Woodwrights focuses on designing and crafting beautiful bespoke pieces of furniture, made-to-order. We collaborate a lot with designers and other influencers involved in the world of design. Therefore, as a company we love seeing new trends and ideas. We then come up with solutions about how we can use these trends to our advantage to remain current and fresh in the design industry.
Now, to the exciting part…let’s discuss colours and trends for 2018
Warm Neutrals
The new Dulux 2018 Colour Forecast is out, and I will have to admit the favourite would be Essential. The muted tones of pink (the new neutral), camel brown, mid-greys and soft blues, paired with light timber tones and uncomplicated design creates a relaxing, understated space. Materials and different textures are of huge significance in this design, as it allows the craftmanship in each piece of décor to shine through. Scrap the fancy art work, instead use textured walls or wallpaper, which create the art in the room. This creates an open, airy space to unwind in after a tough day in the office! To share our obsession with this gorgeous Colour palette, we rounded our favourite homeware and colour picks, along with our stunning Cooper Dining Table in Clear Oak Finish. Are you getting moody Moroccan Resort vibes?
